We like to search for what we call culture include (versus culture fit ) â€" we don't need colleagues just to fit in, we need to acquire individuals who have various thoughts, foundations and can progress and fortify our group and culture. In both your resume and the meeting procedure , KIND's selection representatives search for competitors who are predictable. In each phase of the meeting procedure, we're surveying for an individual's capacity to issue unravel, be spry, think like a business person, just as energy for our central goal, says Del Broccolo. Do your interests appear in an important manner on your resume ? Do you talk about them really and with earnestness during interviews? Is it true that they are reflected in your online life nearness? Irregularities can assist us with checking whether an up-and-comer's expressed interests are really bona fide. At long last, your enthusiasm and enthusiasm for our strategic appear somehow or another all through the application procedure, beginning with your resume yet in addition in your meetings, the inquiries you pose, your web based life nearness and from your references. Talk truly and enthusiastically about the strategic why it makes a difference to [you]. This frequently implies the up-and-comer can exhibit they've done their examination and has an away from of how we mean to make the world somewhat kinder. Keen on meeting at KIND for one of their open jobs? In the soul of straightforwardness, Del Broccolo shares precisely how her group moves toward the meeting procedure: Knowledge #1. While our central goal has consistently assumed a job by they way we've enrolled colleagues, we have kept on improving and refine our procedure after some time. One thing we've as of late created to prepare questioners to have progressively significant discussions is talk with guides. Our aides are educated by our qualities and, in addition to other things, give proposed inquiries to questioners to pose to dependent on the job and level of experience required. Knowledge #2. By posing a predictable arrangement of inquiries, our questioners are solid and steady going into every discussion and can connect all the more profoundly about what is important most. Texting etiquette 6 rules to follow when texting at work

Texting etiquette 6 rules to follow when texting at work Texting etiquette: 6 rules to follow when texting at work Were texting all the time. Sending a text is more timely than sending an email, yet feels less intrusive than calling someone. Texting is replacing voice calls, especially among 18- to 24-year-olds, who send and receive nearly 4,000 text messages per month. And as the lines between work and life become increasingly blurred, there is nothing stopping workers from bringing their personal habits â€" especially texting â€" to work. Although texting has found its way to the workplace, numerous questions remain about texting etiquette. Largely prompted by the rapid rise of smartphone use in the workplace combined with the huge number of millennials entering the workplace, texting has made its way on the job before proper protocol could be set. Praful Shah, senior vice president of strategy for RingCentral, has witnessed a recent shift toward multiple devices in the workplace, including mobile phones, tablets, desk phones and laptops. He notes that each of these channels of communication required adoption of new habits and protocols within a business context. Here are his six rules workers should follow when texting with managers, peers and clients. 1. Grab some context clues Sending text messages is a natural way to communicate, especially for millennials who have been texting more or less their entire lives. But this doesnt mean clients and managers feel the same way. Watch for clues before you text. If your boss or client initiated a text message in the past, its safe to assume you have the green light. 2. Feel it out If you are unsure if your manager or client prefers texting to calling or emailing, test the waters the next time you have an extremely time-urgent issue by texting a question such as, Need to chat about the project ASAP; have a few minutes to talk? If he or she keeps the conversation going via text, its safe to say youve opened the door for future conversations. If it moves to a phone call, perhaps you can save yourself trouble next time by calling right off the bat. 3. Keep it professional Texting with friends and family is typically casual, but it shouldnt be in the workplace, neither to managers nor to peers. Avoid using abbreviations that wouldnt be understood across all generations and stay away from emoji overkill, since both make texts informal. The focus of workplace text messages, especially to clients and managers, should remain centered on work at all times, unless the other party initiates a personal conversation about appropriate topics. 4. Only text when response time is important Text messaging should be saved for time-sensitive information, when emailing wouldnt generate a response quickly enough. Texting is less intrusive than placing a phone call, because the receivers have the option of ignoring the message if they are too busy to respond. When you need a quick response off hours, text messaging is a better option than calling. A quick text might prompt a response, or at least a read receipt, instead of leaving you wondering if your email has been read. 5. Limit group texting to critical things If you loop your boss in to a group text, you will likely send an overabundance of texts that the boss doesnt need to see. If you are working on a group project, assume your manager doesnt need to see the group text behind the scenes, especially off hours. Group texting has its place â€" if its a dire client emergency, for example, and you need input from colleagues right away. 6. If it can wait, dont text. Bottom line, you communicate with your clients, bosses and peers face-to-face and via email and conference calls daily. Before you add texting to the mix, ask yourself if it can wait until youre back in the office or online tomorrow. If it can wait, youve saved yourself the headache of wondering whether or not a text was appropriate. Theres no way to eliminate text messaging from our communication mix, and its infiltrating our conversations at work. If you think before you text, and save texting for the most urgent conversations, it can be a helpful channel for communicating with clients, managers and peers alike. If not, and you go overboard with the number of texts sent, emoji used or spelling errors made, it can be extremely unprofessional. The simple answer: If its work-related, think it through before you send that text. Texting etiquette 6 rules to follow when texting at work Texting etiquette 6 rules to follow when texting at work Were texting all the time.

If youre going to do something, see how far you can go

In case you will accomplish something, perceive how far you can go In case you will accomplish something, perceive how far you can go One of the funnest parts of being a parent is giving encounters that open the interest and creative mind of your kids.We live in such a splendid time for opening-up our brain for what is conceivable. Our chance, in enormous degree, depends on our specific circumstance, not on our willpower. For model, in the event that you had lived 100 years back, you wouldn't have the web or the capacity to venture to the far corners of the planet as we do today. That would enormously restrain your opportunities for choice. All decision is molded by setting. On the off chance that you don't have alternatives, you can't make choices.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more! When my significant other and I became non-permanent parents of three kids from a constraining situation, we quickly perceived how we could grow their horizons. We needed to acquaint them with a wide range of things. From a cerebrum p oint of view, you can't generally learn and disguise something on the off chance that you don't know about it. Getting mindful of something is fundamental for memory improvement. Getting mindful of something, and afterward captivating profoundly in that thing is the means by which you shape your character and in the end, your personality. What you center on expands. What you center around shapes how you see yourself, your future, and your past.It is key that guardians give learning encounters to kids as well as model what effective conduct resembles. Plainly, the guardians need their youngsters to diagram their own way. In any case, displaying is the way individuals learn. Also, the parent's way of life and encounters structure the inward desire for what is typical or conceivable for the kids at any rate initially. So if guardians are seeking after their interest and creative mind and on the off chance that they are transforming their fantasies into outer real factors, at that point the kids generally expect this is feasible for them as well.It is totally intriguing. Only two days prior, as a family, we drove up to Clemson, South Carolina, where I did my PhD. That is additionally where our three receptive kids were born.Their organic mother kicked the bucket a weekend ago at 33 years old. Two days back was her funeral. We were glad to take our youngsters there, despite the fact that the natural family had no desire that we would be there. What's more, indeed, expected that we wouldn't be.True learning happens when you can see something very similar with new eyes. They call this a Copernican Revolution. For instance, when we as a people understood the sun didn't spin around the earth, however the other way around. That solitary knowledge moved how we saw everything. We were taking a gander at a similar boost however with another frame. That's what happened for this present week for our children. They returned to their old condition and were with their organic family y et with an entire host of new encounters and training they had another focal point on the experience.Fundamental to that focal point was compassion and love, not judgment. If your focal point of the world isn't refreshing routinely, at that point you are not learning enough. Your focal point of the world ought to constantly be refreshing through understanding, learning, and relationships. The increasingly concentrated the experience and learning, the more noteworthy movements to the focal point. The more you can see very similar things from entirely unexpected angles. One of the bits of knowledge our 11-year-old had when he was educated regarding his natural moms' passing was that, had he despite everything been living with her, he likely wouldn't have the option to peruse right now.We were thankful to respect their mom and never expect on banishing that piece of their history. It's important. But the entire experience additionally opened our youngsters' brains to the lives they needed to live. They were in direct contact with their natural family, the vast majority of which were living genuinely constraining lives from our perspective.Questions and interest lead to learning. While driving home, our child started posing astonishing inquiries, for example, the accompanying: How did my mother bite the dust? What is malignancy? How can somebody get malignant growth? Is it something you can maintain a strategic distance from? Is my natural dad going to pass on youthful too, since he smokes? The discussion went further and more profound than any discussion I'd at any point had with him. It was amazing.I could tell his psyche was hustling. He was considering how his own life could turn out. He started posing inquiries about existence, achievement, and God. What sorts of work might I be able to do where I help competitors? What amount of school would it take? Am I going to see my mother once more? How is she going to be? How might I ensure I don't bite the dust youthful? A major key to quality child rearing, mentorship, and administration is creating experiences that flash knowledge and realizing which lead to veritable inquiries and curiosity. When questions are truly posed, at that point learning gets far simpler. As a parent, the objective is to give a setting where intrigued and inquisitive inquiries are posed. The parent ideally doesn't have the entirety of the appropriate responses yet fills in as a further fuel to sources, data, and encounters to additionally stroke that interest, learning, and transformation.Experiences are key to learning. In case you're protecting yourself or others from having incredible and now and then awkward encounters at that point you're protecting yourself as well as other people from growth.Research shows that individuals logically become less open to new encounters as they age. They quit placing themselves into troublesome and passionate circumstances. They quit extending their horizons.Instead, they by and large s tart rehashing a similar regular encounters again and again, and along these lines quit growing their worldview.Having new encounters isn't sufficient, however. You need a procedure of coordinating those new encounters into learning and change. For example, my Aunt Jane, a splendid business visionary was as of late at a business gathering with some friends. At the finish of the three-day meeting, which was loaded up with undeniably a bigger number of thoughts and takeaways than anybody could completely execute, Jane and her companions went through an hour together after the meeting each sharing their best 10 key takeaways. By sharing their thoughts, and hearing the bits of knowledge of one another, their clearness started to take shape about what they really expected to do.They had an arrangement. They additionally had responsibility, in light of the fact that them three have month to month calls to help and push each other. When you have large encounters, you could accomplish somethi ng comparative. This is the reason journaling is such an incredible asset. It permits you to process and incorporate your encounters, and start applying what you're realizing into your life. On the off chance that you're not learning through encounters, at that point you're rehashing the past and not transforming.Your life can and ought to change. You look for encounters and afterward you coordinate your figuring out how to completely change you and self. Continually developing and expanding. If you will accomplish something, you should push it to the absolute limits.None of us are given a similar situation in this life.None of us will ever completely understand our latent capacity. Like a work of art, none of us will ever be done. Sooner or later, we will basically end in a fascinating place.Rather than being disturbed about what occurs, it is ideal to just utilize this life to perceive how far you can go. As opposed to connecting to precisely how everything turns out you just need to stay open, modest, drew in, energized, and continually pushing the limits. Continually putting further and further into the development and plausibility of what you're doing. One of our children needs to be an aviation design specialist. He cherishes space and rockets. We have been filling that. Recently, we were at the Kennedy Space Center and watched a live rocket dispatch. It was epic. The progressively intrigued our child becomes and the more by and by contributed the further he can explore.Human creatures are planned to explore. We're intended to ascend to challenges. Most individuals squander enormous measures of their life since they aren't effectively pursuing a test that brings their most prominent concentration and inventiveness. They aren't seeking after a couple things for years and watching the aggravating impact of long haul goals.Dan Sullivan, the author of Strategic Coach, shows individuals how to set 25-year-plans.When you allow yourself 25 years to achieve something important, you truly can think 10X or 100X greater than the ordinary individual. You've given yourself enough runway to really assemble something important and significant. You at that point influence profitability techniques and transient objectives to guarantee you're gaining amazing ground and consistently refreshing and refining your meaning of accomplishment and priorities. You just have one life to live. Richard Branson once said why not go directly to the top? Why not pull out all the stops at what you do? Why not be focused? Why not commit yourself to something that will totally change you through doing it?Why not perceive how far you can do something? Why not consistently stroke the fire of your creative mind, and afterward steadily pursue that imagination?Never over-relate to what you've done. Never stall out from quite a while ago, regardless of whether disappointment or accomplishment. Take the past for what it is: information. It is data which is continually adjusting and changing dependent on what you're as of now seeking after and centering on.If you will accomplish something do it extraordinary. As Abraham Lincoln stated, Whatever you are, attempt to be a decent one.Truly live your life.Push limits your own, yet in addition your industry's. Push the limits and take on tremendous challenges.See how far you can go.Create encounters that become Copernican Revolutions. As you have new encounters and develop in development, your needs will ceaselessly upgrade. What may have been fascinating 1â€"2 years back will never again be intriguing. What may have been a splendid open door a month ago is not, at this point worth your time.Essentialism.Focusing on the essential.Focusing on what completely matters to you.Raising your guidelines for the kind of work you

Are you spray painting the red flags hot pink A few ways to know

Are you splash painting the warnings hot pink A couple of approaches to know Are you splash painting the warnings hot pink A couple of approaches to know There's not a spirit on this planet that hits the nail on the head constantly. It doesn't make a difference how instinctive, wary, wise, or visionary you are. There's a wild measure of obscure in the decisions of our every day lives. Which implies … you will miss the point. You will treat it terribly. You will choose wrong. You're going to take a huge number of wrong turns in your life. But … a portion of those can be avoided. Not each off-base decision is an awful, wrong decision. There's two containers of wrong decisions, maybe. There's the ones we made with the entirety of the best data we had at that point. And afterward there's the ones that we decided to make despite the fact that we knew better. Like way better. Yet, we would not like to confront it, or recognize it, or utilize our voice, or request greater clearness, or push for a greater amount of what we thought was correct. So all things being equal, we legitimized the choice regardless of the entirety of the data around attempting to tenderly push us back to our own knowledge. And what nobody recognizes is the means by which startling and dejected and once in a while upsetting creation the correct choice will be. The correct one, the one that goes with the information we know to be valid, the one that sees the warnings and follows their asking, can be as agonizing as it is correct. Else, you would have recently done it in any case. Right isn't in every case simple, which is the reason you get so dedicated to shower painting the hell out of those warnings until they're neon with pink.Looking back, you'll generally realize that is actually what you did. Be that as it may, what is important is knowing why you did it and what you were terrified of. What's more, critically, how to keep the pink splash paint in the organizer. I've found in my own life, whenever there's where my gut was shouting however I overlooked it and made the circumstance as right as I needed to make it, the universe would give me a n explode so as to get me back on the way. Also, trust me, you don't need that explode. It feels like much all the more a classification five breakdown. If you're uncertain about whether they're warnings, or warnings that you've secured with pink, take inventory:Are your companions tiptoeing around counsel? You know. However, you would prefer not to know. Have a go at asking them straight, What do you truly, really think? But be prepared for the appropriate responses. Also, just solicit this from individuals you profoundly, truly trust. It may be a reality you can't unhear.Ask yourself what you're terrified of. … You may find that when you can respect your dread, you can relinquish the fancy you've made for yourself and simply face the red flag.Ask how well the circumstance is functioning for you… Your answer may shock you. You can quit attempting to make certain ways work for you. Furthermore, rather pick the way that is will undoubtedly work. Regardless of whether it's scary. If a circumstance is precarious, obscure, or uncertain, it's OK. It doesn't imply that it's not the correct way. Regularly, the correct ways are hard as damnation. In any case, you would prefer not to settle on specific decisions harder than they should be by disregarding your gut and overlooking your fact. Warnings are OK, they're directing you toward the celebratory banners of a way of enchantment. Ones that are really hot pink. This article was initially posted on MaxieMcCoy.com.

LinkedIn Answers One of the Best Ways to Network

LinkedIn Answers â€" One of the Best Ways to Network One of my favorite people, Director Tom (aka, Tom Clifford), guest posted on the Im on LinkedIn Now What??? blog last night. What an excellent post! You may remember seeing Director Toms name on this blog before I think a lot of him. I met him online last year, and then a few weeks later in person, and weve had multiple e-mails and phone calls since then. This is a man of high integrity and passion for his art/business. I asked him to guest blog because Ive seen how he uses the Answers section of LinkedIn, and think its awesome. You can read his thoughts and ideas on it here. Answers is one of the best features of LinkedIn and gives you an excellent opportunity to reach out to network contacts you have in LinkedIn, as well as find new contacts (as they come across your question). When you answer a question you are reinforcing your personal brand online, could get some business (someone last year got busine$$ from answering one of my questions!), and are throwing your name out there to others that might be interested in contacting with you. I recommend you check out Director Toms website, as well as his guest post (The Power of Questions: 5 Secrets to Strengthen Your Brand) from yesterday! How to Write The Perfect Blog Post - Classy Career Girl

How to Write The Perfect Blog Post I know that writing content on a consistent basis can be a struggle, so Ive created this guide to walk you through the process of creating the perfect blog post. I think it will help you create better content in less time. Step 1: Research Your Topic Before you start writing, take a few minutes to research what you want to write about. Google is a great place to start, just type in the topic you want to cover and see what others have written. How can you write something better? Is there a different angle you can take? Can you offer a more in-depth guide? Is there a sub-topic that hasnt been covered? Write all this down! Remember, you don’t want to write the same articles that are already out there. Think about how your article can be unique and how you can add your special touch to the content to make it yours. Step 2: Get Feedback From Your Audience The next step is to find out what your audience is looking for. Where are they struggling? Can you offer a solution? Ask on through email, in a survey, or through social media. (I like to use Instagram stories and Instagram or Facebook group polls to ask questions!) Step 3: Start Writing Seriously, dont overthink it! Dont spend forever trying to get one sentence just right. Instead, just get all your ideas out. Try to create a basic outline, then fill in more information about each point. Once you get a rough first draft, go back and edit, reword, or rework. Be okay with your writing not being perfect the first time. The Perfect Blog Post Template These are features every blog post should have, including a few tools to help you create a search-engine friendly posts. Title Your title should be catchy, descriptive, and include a key term you are targeting. This tool from Coschedule will help you develop a catchy title. Remember, the title needs to grab your readers attention, but it also needs to tell search engines what your post is about. We use the plugin Yoast for tips about being search engine friendly. Meta Description The meta description is the short two or three lines of text you see under site when you search in Google. If your post turns up in someones search, this is the line that should tempt them to click and learn more. Summarize your post and make them want to read! Meta descriptions should be around 150 characters, including spaces! URL Slug Your URL slug is the end of the web address that is unique to your post. For example, www.example.com/perfect-blog-post-template. Some WordPress themes or site builders generate an arbitrary slug, which doesnt tell your reader what the link is! Make sure to edit your URL slug to reflect what your post is about. Make sure to include a key term and take out stop words. Introduction Before you start giving out tips and advice, give an overview of what you are going to cover and relate it back to why the reader should read your article. This is where you want to share a story so that the reader can get excited about what is to come and get to know why it is important to read in the first place. Main Post Now you are ready to write! A few of you have asked me how long your blog posts should be. The truth is, the right length will depend on your topic and what you have to say. Longer content (1,000+ words) does tend to get more traffic, but you should be aiming to write useful content, not hit a certain word count. Make sure to include these elements in each post: Headings: These help break up your text so it is easy to read and have SEO (search engine optimization) benefits as well. Aim to add at least 2-4 headings (H2, H3) to each post. Include key terms you are writing about when possible. (Here is a guide to understanding headings/subheadings.) Images: Images are a must for every blog post! You create your own on using a site like Canva or use a stock photo site. We LOVE The Styled Stock Society. It is where we get almost all of our photos when we don’t shoot them ourselves and Elle has offered a few perks for members to join. Sign up and get either 30 styled stock photos for free OR get 10% off your photo membership by using the code CCG10. Alt Tags: Alt tags, AKA alternative tags, are text used to describe images. They are read by screen readers used by visually impaired persons and by search engines to understand images. You need an alt tag for every image. Make them descriptive and include key terms. For example, in this post, I might use the alt tag perfect blog post checklist featured image with journal and succulent plant Internal/External Links: Internal links are used to send your readers to another page on your website. External links send users to other websites. Aim for two to three internal links and one to two external links per 1,000 words. Links can be used to suggest tools, offer in-depth information about a certain topic, or link to sources for definitions, quotes, or statistics. Links should be useful to your readers, but they also send a little signal to search engines that you are a trustworthy source of information. Lead Magnet: If you have a lead magnet, make sure to include a link in your blog posts! If possible, relate it to the topic you are writing about. You can also include a short blurb between paragraphs, in a pop-up, or on your sites sidebar. Conclusion This is where you wrap your post up. Summarize your points and include a call to action (CTA). What are the next steps? Do you want readers to share your post on social media? Ask a question in the comments? Sign up for a webinar? Tell them what to do next. I really hope this blog post template is useful to you! If you have more questions, feel free to shoot me a message in the Facebook group! Id love to help.

Lessons in Personal Branding from NPRs Car Talk - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Lessons in Personal Branding from NPRs Car Talk - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Tom and Ray Magliozzis Car Talk is one of the most successful personal brands on NPR, National Public Radio. The enduring strength of the Car Talk brand can be measured by: Numbers. Over 4.4 million listeners tune-in each week, listening on 588 radio stations around the world. Fund raising. Car Talk is consistently one of NPRs leading fund-raising shows during pledge time. Longevity. The show has been on since 1977, with major growth taking place during the 1980s. Visibility. Car Talks Tom Ray Magliozzi have been guests on leading network television shows like The David Letterman Show, CBS Evening News, The Today Show, and 60 Minutes. Their newspaper column is widely syndicated, plus you can sign-up to receive Car Talks podcasts for your computer or iPod. In addition, Car Talks Shameless Commerce Division brand includes numerous audios, books and videos, car and travel accessories, and branded clothing. Lessons from the Car Talk brand What the lessons in personal branding we can learn from the Car Talk brand? The best way to understand the enduring (over 3-decades) strength of the Car Talk brand is to start by reading (or re-reading) Patrick Hanlons Primal Branding: Create Zealots for Your Brand, Your Company, and Your Future. Primal Branding is one powerful, actionable branding book. Its strength is in its identification of a 7-point Primal Code which describe the 7 common elements found in all strong brands. The 7 elements include: The Creation Story. Story and myth play a major role in creating a strong and lasting brand. Whether its Hewlett-Packards origins in a garage, or the way or the way Car Talk originated as an invitation to join a panel discussion of car repairs in 1977. The other 4 guests failed to show up, the producer got fired, and a week later the show was theirs! The Icons. Icons can be colors, i.e., IBMs blue, the Apple logo, or a restaurant, like Jake OShaughnessys, where the waiters used to spontaneously start singing opera arias and bread was served on a warmed piece of marble. Car Talks icons include self-deprecating humor, puns, deep belly laughs, and an outspoken, loose cannon, utterly pragmatic approach to caller questions. So, why dont you tie-up your mother-in-law and leave her in the back seat, with the keys in the ignition? Solve two problems at once! The Rituals. Predictabiity is a hallmark of successful brands. You know that David Letterman is going to open with a monologue, followed shortly thereafter by a Top Ten List that begins with Number 10 and builds to Number 1. In Car Talks case, you know they will begin by reading a listener letter, there will be constant brother-to-brother teasing (Dont drive like my Brother!), and outrageous advice (Hire an elephant! to make the roof on a convertible go down). There will be 3 halves to the show, there is usually a Puzzler,   (which doubled their listeners the year it debuted), and the show will end with production credits that include their lawyers, Dewey, Cheetem, and Howe. The Pagans, or Nonbelievers. Another Primal Belief common characteristic of strong brands is a common enemy shared by the brand and its followers. In the case of the Apple Macintosh, the common enemy is Microsoft Windows. In national politics, Republicans and Democrats need each other as a rallying point. Car Talk’s enemy for over 30 years has been inept and unscrupulous auto repair dealers. During most of the 1990’s, Car Talk’s enemy was the inept management of the Detroit “Big 3” car markers, symbolized by Roger Smith, former head of General Motors. How to profit from Primal Branding There are two ways you can profit from Primal Branding. Read the book. One approach is to simply read the book, noting the 7 Primal Code elements, and study ways the Code elements appear in the examples described in the chapters that follow. Framework for further research. An even better approach, however, would be to create a system of easy to fill-out worksheets and use them as the basis for examining the personal brands that you like the most. Youll be amazed at the deeper understanding of branding and the number of actionable ideas youll gain for building your own brand when you use Primal Brandings Primal Code as a framework for researching successful brands. Turning books into strong personal brands The best way to profit from a book is to read it and apply it. Study its contents, underline it, and summarize it in your own words. Tell your friends about it. Read what others have said about it. But, the real progress requires more, you have to use as a springboard for independent study and action. I originally read Primal Branding in 2006, the year it came out. But, it sat unused on my shelf until Thursday, when in the middle of a coaching session I located the book and read the 7 Primal Code ideas to her. Then, while enjoying a relaxing drive home from breakfast, listening to Car Talk (like I religiously do each Saturday), it suddenly struck me that the Car Talk brand can be deconstructed and analyzed in terms of Patrick Hanlons Primal Code. And, the more I studied Car Talk, the more lessons I learned. It doesnt matter whether you study Car Talk, Apple Computer, Southwest Airlines, or C.S.I. New York. Take the time to study your favorite brands, and codify how they profit from the Primal Code. Then, success is just a matter of figuring out how to apply the Primal Code elements to your own business! And, while youre doing it, share your ideas, progress,   and questions below, as comments! Author: Roger C. Parker shares ideas for planning, writing, promoting, profiting from brand building books in his daily writing tips blog. His latest book, #BOOK TITLE Tweet: 140 Bite-Sized Ideas for Compelling Article, Book, Event Titles, offers step-by-step ideas, tips, and examples for choosing the right title. 4. The Pagans, or Nonbelievers. Another Primal Belief common characteristics of strong brands is a common enemy shared by the brand and its followers. In the case of the Apple Macintosh, the common enemy is Microsoft Windows. In national politics, Republicans and Democrats need each other as a rallying point.
